A 29-year-old man suspected of killing American rapper Nipsey Hussle in Los Angeles on Sunday was arrested at noon Tuesday and remains in custody, city police said.
Eric Holder had been identified on Monday, thanks to images from surveillance cameras that captured the moment of the death of the 33-year-old musician, shot several times in front of his clothing store.
According to Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore, the crime would be the result of a personal quarrel between the two men and would not have direct ties to local gangs, a track that had been initially followed because the rapper was a member of the Crips gang.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Holder surrendered to police on Tuesday after fleeing in a car driven by a woman.
“Having powerful enemies is a blessing,” Hussle, a native of a Los Angeles neighborhood marked by inter-gang warfare, had tweeted hours before his death. Authorities say that rapper Nipsey Hussle was killed for “senseless violence of arms”
