England Business start to come out of lockdown but what about Wales
The two-meter rule in England to be changed to 0ne metre plus, which has been welcomed by many business across England.
The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that people should remain 2m apart where possible but a “one metre plus” rule would be introduced.
The UK government in England has eased rules allowing parts of the hospitality sector including pubs to reopen from 4 July.
Hotels, pubs and cinemas have got the go-ahead to reopen in England – but swimming pools, nightclubs and beauty salons will remain shut.
What about business in Wales?
Mark Drakeford has said the original social distancing advice is staying in place in Wales and has been enshrined in law. Workplaces are expected to follow rules as much as possible and risk fines if they fail to do so.
The travel restrictions in Wales are also staying in place at least until the 6 of July.
Welsh Conservatives have called for a “similar lifeline” for companies in Wales.
The First Minister has said that from 13 July, “self-contained accommodation” could open “safely and carefully” to holidaymakers, however this does not apply to hotels and campsites in Wales.
Many Welsh hotels have been inundated with booking requests after lockdown easing in England. However Welsh hotels currently cannot accept bookings under current rules.
The Health minister for Wales Vaughan Gething said “people in Wales and those across the border need to understand lockdown regulations.
We want you to visit Wales later. You should not come to Wales for leisure or exercise if it is not local.
The 2 metre rule stays in Wales, but what about other counties?
